10 Things I Would Tell My Younger Self

diary with flowers between pages on crumpled fabric

  1. There are good and bad people in this world for a reason. The good ones are here to inspire us to do good, and the bad ones are here to show us why it’s important to do good.
  2. It is okay to ask for help from the right people. Do not be afraid to seek help if it is needed.
  3. If someone tries to make you feel less than or undeserving, understand that that is a projection of their own inner world, and it is okay to walk away, regardless of your relationship with them.
  4. Toxic is toxic. There are no excuses for unhealthy behaviors. Everyone can choose how they react to certain situations; if they choose to be toxic, they are indeed toxic.
  5. Do everything with good intentions. If it fails, you can easily let the person or situation go because you know you gave it your all with pure intentions.
  6. Never be afraid to stand up or defend yourself. In the end, you are your number one supporter and friend.
  7. Being alone is better than being around negative people. Watch how people talk about themselves and others because that will show you who they really are as a person.
  8. Explore the world alone, eat at the table alone, and go on a date alone. You will become a more robust and independent individual who will value yourself more. When you know yourself, you will never settle for less.
  9. Take care of yourself mentally, financially, emotionally, and physically. Everything connects in our body, and reaching balance in all areas is crucial to living a fulfilling life.
  10. There are good people out there. If you cannot find what you are looking for, be what you are looking for.
